I saw this pony's foundered hooves while driving and turned around to see what I could do. We had our horse trailer with us so I asked if I could buy him and put him in the trailer for $50. The trader who owned him said he was going to euthanize him since nobody wanted him. Joey is only 7 years old. So I did a drastic first trim and my heart smiled when we turned him out in the field afterwards and he ran and ran. Who knows how long he could hardly walk. It took a year of trims every 2 weeks to correct the growth pattern but Joey is sound and happy. He lives out in the pasture with the rest of our horses and is now owned by our boarder and friend, Yvonne, and her 4 young children.
